The target
Every page aims at WCAG 2.2 level AA. Contrast is measured, not judged by eye: each release is checked on the live site by an automated contrast and structure test, and the text colours were chosen against the green ground with measured ratios between 6.0 and 15.6 to 1. The highlighter behind a quoted sentence carries dark text at 13.3 to 1.
How the pages work
- The file chooser is the browser's own file input, reachable by keyboard, with a visible focus ring. Dragging a file is optional.
- Every status line is announced to screen readers as they change, including the page count while a PDF is read and the window count while it is typed.
- The matrix is a table with column headers, so a screen reader announces each row's page, kind and section with its quote. The column head says the words are quoted, so the highlighter adds nothing a screen reader misses.
- Nothing on the site moves unless you start it. With reduced motion set, the progress rule and the window cells jump to their values.
- Touch targets are at least 44 pixels, and text inputs use 16-pixel type so phones do not zoom.
- Without JavaScript, the first page still shows both prices and six rows of a real matrix, and the sample, method and legal pages are complete.
Known limits
The quote and the paid run read the PDF with JavaScript; there is no route that does it without. Quoted sentences keep the line breaks the PDF stores, so a screen reader may pause inside a sentence. A scanned PDF cannot be read at all, by any reader of this site, because nothing here reads images. The downloaded CSV opens in any spreadsheet, which is the most accessible form of the matrix for many readers.
